This show is a celebration of artistic diversity and the power of imagination. This unique perspective invites us to question our preconceived notions, embrace the fantastical, and explore the depths of our own realities. Join us as we embark on this captivating journey, where boundaries dissolve, and new possibilities emerge.
Sylvie Auvray, a master of ceramics, brings her vivacity and experimentation to the exhibition. Her sculptures, featuring friendly animals and pudgy characters, initially evoke a sense of sweet nostalgia. However, upon closer inspection, we discover dark eyes, strange wounds, and disturbing metamorphoses. Auvray’s ceramic creations embody the duality of the human condition, where innocence and darkness coexist, challenging our perceptions and inviting us to explore the complexities of our own emotions.
Samuel Boutruche, a French contemporary artist, delves into the effects of simulation, presenting us with a world of duality. His paintings, with their intricate details and thought-provoking compositions, challenge our perceptions and invite us to question the boundaries between real and imagined. Boutruche’s exploration of simulation creates a visual language that is both captivating and thought-provoking, leaving us with a sense of intrigue and contemplation.
Taisiia Cherkasova, hailing from Ukraine, seamlessly weaves together environmental and social issues with elements from everyday life. Her hybrid sculptures, crafted from textiles, wood, and ceramics, serve as the foundation for her paintings. Cherkasova’s phantasmagorical universe takes us on a journey where imagination and reality intertwine. Drawing inspiration from popular culture, martial arts, and cinema, her artworks become a reflection of our collective fantasies, while also addressing pressing contemporary concerns.
Stefan Rinck, with his fascination for various epochs, particularly the French Romanesque period, presents us with a unique blend of influences. His medium-sized stone sculptures, resembling fantastic animals, transport us to a realm where mythology and contemporary art converge. Rinck’s incorporation of elements from popular culture, such as video games and comics, adds a playful twist to his figurative forms, creating a visual language that is both culturally collective and independently expressive.
