Seine Sandsteinskulpturen erinnern an Figuren aus einem mittelalterlichen Bestiarium oder Chimären, wie sie an Kathedralen von Dächern und aus Kapitellen lugen, um böse Geister und Dämonen zu vertreiben. Rinck, der auch Germanistik, Kunstgeschichte und Philosophie studierte, findet seine Vorbilder in verschiedenen Kunstepochen, in Mythologien und Märchenwelten. Mit Humor und Fantasie vereint er sie mit zeitgenössischen comic-haften Bildzitaten. Die grobbehauenen Stelen wirken auf den ersten Blick wie archäologische Fundstücke aus einer anderen Zeit, bis man den Witz und die hintergründige Kombination mit Elementen z.B. aus der Formensprache der 70er Jahre entdeckt. Die Ausstellung zeigt neue Arbeiten von Stefan Rinck und bietet einen Ausflug in seine persönliche Fabelwelt von Minnesang bis Biene Maja, von Sherlock Holmes bis “Böser Wolf”.
